American Elm

Asked September 23, 2019, 12:41 PM EDT

I had the city of Baltimore plant an American Elm tree in front of my home. This is the first year it was planted. It appears that someone has poured some white hard substance around the trunk and I don't know what it is or how I should remove it. How should I handle this...what should I do?

Hi - You are welcome to send us photos of the tree and the material around it and we can try to determine what is going on and what you can do. You can attach up to three photos at a time and we will take a look.

Another option would be to reach out to the arborists at Tree Baltimore and ask if they can assist you with the issue.
