Incomplete fruit formation on black raspberries

Asked September 22, 2019, 10:27 PM EDT

For the last 2 years my black raspberry bush have generated incomplete berries. The plants look healthy with lots of blooms, but as the berries mature they are not full fruits.

Reading the question my first thought was a virus infection such as crumbly berry or poor pollination. After looking at the picture I think that you had a blossom infection known as stamen blight caused by Botrytis fungus which also causes gray mold of the fruit. Applications of a fungicide such as captan during bloom should reduce the disease.
