Dear Expert: I want to plant two lemon trees in my backyard. Is the local climate fit for lemon tree? Or can you suggest me any specific type of lemon tree which could grow in this region (Rockville, MD)? Thanks.

No, we can't grow lemons outdoors in our climate. The winters are too cold.
Some people grow citrus as houseplants in large pots, putting them outdoors in summer and bringing them indoors for winter. It's not the easiest project as the conditions are not ideal (our indoor dry, forced heat) and pests like spider mites can be a problem.
The best fruits to grow in our region are small fruits/berries and figs.
