damaged oregano

Asked September 16, 2019, 1:37 PM EDT

Can you tell what caused part of this oregano to die? Was it due to 10-10-10 fertilizer on the leaves? Instead of carefully sprinkling fertilizer around the outer edges of the oregano, I just threw some 10-10-10 into the planter and a few days later the oregano appeared as shown in the photo.

Hi - Your photo is blurry and we cannot see a lot of detail in it. If whole stems have died, it is likely a root problem, which could have occurred because of too much or too little water, or possibly fertilizer burn. All you can do is prune out the dead stems. Oregano grows best in well-draining soil, so just be careful to avoid overwatering.
