Hello. Bird mites may be a problem if you had a bird's nest on your home or in the attic. If nests are removed, that will take care of the problem. Bird mites do not survive on humans. Please see the page about bird mites on our website, https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/bird-mites. There is an excellent link to more information at the bottom of the page.

You may want to see a medical doctor about the problem you are having. Some types of allergies, medications, detergents, soaps, or household products may cause a sensation that feels like biting or itching and a medical doctor can be helpful in determining the cause. This publication provides more information that may be helpful for you. https://extension.umd.edu/sites/extension.umd.edu/files/_images/programs/hgic/Publications/BitingMe....
