We just moved to Washington State and this is a tree in the yard. It has tons of these berries on it.

Hi--looks like English Laurel, Prunus laurocerasus 'Otto Luyken'. It's not considered a noxious weed in Washington, but it spreads like crazy! You see it mostly used as a fast-growing hedge, although it can be trained to grow as a tree. As you see, it makes a LOT of berries, which the birds love, and they spread the seeds far and wide. The entire plant is toxic, so keep children away from the berries, and animals should not be allowed to graze on plant. Oh wow! Thank you for your response!
That whole tree might need to be cut down...there are both animals and kiddos about. Are the leaves poisonous?
Thank you again!

Yes, the leaves are also toxic.
