Tree suggestions :) Long narrow yard...

Thanks so much for your time! We have a super narrow (approx. 13'). long (approx. 112'), yard. Literally, it looks like a landing strip for a small plane...We sit "higher" than our neighbors behind us, so there is literally no privacy. We'd like to plant some trees, guessing 4ish, to provide some privacy & interest. We suspect, we may need "dwarf" trees???? We did a crude measurement, & need whatever we plant, to have a canopy that starts at approx. 6 1/2 feet, otherwise when the tree is fully grown, just it's trunk will be in our line of view, not providing any visual privacy. We also need something that has a canopy small enough, to not overhang into the neighbor's yards behind us. We are open to any trees that will do well in C.O., as well as fruit producing or not, & a combination of the 2. The trees will be watered via tapping off our sprinkler system. The soil is a few inches of top soil with good ol’ Colorado clay beneath. We thought maybe we'd "stagger" the trees, instead of planting them in a straight line. Again, thank you so much!

I feel your pain! I have a very similar backyard with a very similar view of my backyard neighbor's home. I would recommend columnar varieties of trees. They often have dense foliage and if you go with something like an oak, they provide beautiful fall interest as well. I have attached some links to a few handouts on tree selection. We wish you all the best in finding some trees that meet your needs! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any additional questions or concerns.
