Indoor plants with aphids

Asked September 9, 2019, 1:10 PM EDT

If I treat my indoor plants with soapy water and nematodes, do I have to completely repot with fresh soil or no?

Thank you for your question. Aphids live above ground on plant tissue, and nematodes, which are microscopic worms in the soil, have no effect on them. So, soil isn't involved if what you really have is aphids. Here is an article from your state's Extension service with recommendations on effective aphid (and other pest) control: If you use one of the recommended liquid or insect controls, you shouldn't have to change the soil. I hope this is helpful. Good luck!
