Weird looking larvae?

Cannot find this insect online anywhere. I found it in my yard.

Hi. I don’t recognize it offhand. I will consult some resources that I have, but in the meantime, can you tell me a little more about the context in which you found it? For example, was it on a plant? If so, what type? Also, how large is it? If you still have it, a photo with a ruler scale of some sort would be helpful. And am I correct that you found just the one (as opposed to a concentration of several individuals)? Thanks.

I was able to get some help from a colleague at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and it turns out that what you photographed is a skiff moth caterpillar.
