What is this Plant?

Asked August 30, 2019, 2:01 PM EDT

This plant showed up in my garden. I thought it might be goldenrod, so I let it bloom. But it doesn't look like goldenrod at all. Is it something that is invasive? Should I just let it be, or get rid of it? I tried to attach a picture, but I couldn't find a way to do it.

We really would need to see photos to determine what it is. When you submit your question, you will see a button labeled "choose file." Click on that button and then you can upload pictures from your image library.

See the attached picture.

Thank you for the photo. This looks like late-flowering thoroughwort (Eupatorium serotinum). It is a native plant that spreads by seeds. https://www.marylandbiodiversity.com/viewSpecies.php?species=4278
