Is it too late to renovate my June-bearing strawberries

Asked August 21, 2019, 1:12 PM EDT

I have a strawberry patch that I planted a couple of years ago and have never renovated it (I did let it expand from half a 4x8 raised bed to the whole raised bed). I can do it this weekend, but I'm wondering if I'm already too late in the season. I'm in North Portland. Thank you!

Thank you for using Ask an Expert for help with your strawberries.

Generally, the beginning of August is the end date for renovation, but I would risk it for this weekend, given that the past few years have stretched into a warm fall. If you think that this year will follow that pattern, I say go for it.
