unknown plants or weeds that keep spreading

Asked August 19, 2019, 1:52 PM EDT

Hello. Could you please help identify the following plants or weeds and tell me how to get rid of them? The image on the left is invasive and has a long underground root system, much like pachysandra.

Thank you,

The first photo is mugwort. This is a real thug in the plant world and extremely difficult to control. Pulling it encourages more to grow. The best you can do is manage it. Please refer to the following information from our website,

The second photo is creeping Charlie or ground ivy. It is a member of the mint family and is also not easy to control. If it is in a landscape bed, pull it out. The following is a link to controlling it in the lawn,
