Maple tree drying leaves

Asked August 18, 2019, 11:16 PM EDT

We planted this tree this past spring. After a couple of months of watering daily, this began in the leaves. By now, most of the tree is affected. What is causing this?

This tree isn’t establishing the root system well. Possibly it can be replanted, if needed, this winter. Tell me more about how it was purchased (bare root? Pot?), how you planted it, where it is growing (how much sun, for example), and what kind of maple it is. Perhaps we can troubleshoot the problem and how to correct it. Current planting advice includes not backfilling the hole with amendments, only native soil. https://www.treesaregood.org/portals/0/docs/treecare/New_TreePlanting.pdf
