What type of squash is this?

Asked August 18, 2019, 12:37 AM EDT

I have a small garden and no place to compost, so in the off season I direct compost (dig holes and bury produce scraps). This results in several seedlings coming up in the spring. I dig them up and either transplant them myself when I rework my garden for the year or give them away to family and friends. I gave a coworker a squash plant this spring, I assumed it was delicata since I had eaten several the fall before. However, this is what the plant produced. This doesn’t look like anything I had eaten the year before, so I am wondering if it is the result of cross pollination (maybe delicata and yellow summer squash). Any insight?
