My Ivy suddenly died

Asked August 16, 2019, 3:28 PM EDT

Hello, I have a VERY old ivy plant that has run around the base of a tree and up the tree. The vines are about as thick as my finger. It is at least 20 years old but very suddenly, it died all the way up. Entirely. I left for 5 weeks and that's the state of affairs. We had a wet winter in San Antonio and we are dry now but every year we are in a drought right now. Any ideas?

It could be drought related a disease or other.

We really need to see some early progression images to pin point this down better. The tree probably appreciates the stress off it to as vines should be removed from them.

Please keep an eye on the homepage for educational talks offered throughout the year.
