Ground Cover for a Wooded Area

Asked August 14, 2019, 2:26 PM EDT

I recently cleared a sloping section of woodland (some fir, oak, small bushes) of blackberry canes and various vines and trash plants. I'm left with mostly dirt and a few ferns. Is there a ground cover I could plant in this area that would help prevent soil erosion as well as provide a nicer appearance?

Thank you for your question. Here is a great Extension article on the topic, along with a chart which describes their environmental needs: https://s3.wp.wsu.edu/uploads/sites/2076/2017/07/C057-Groundcovers-15a.pdf Hope this is helpful. Good luck!
