Ground Hornets

How do I get rid of ground hornets? Already tried Dawn and a hose. That just made them mad.

You've probably got yellow jackets, a native wasp that builds hives in cavities in the ground. They are beneficial because they eat other insects (think flies, mosquitoes, etc.) but if the nest is where you must closely encounter it, then of course it has to go.
