I had 4 shrub roses (were cheap) taken over by shoots! I have new ‘Knock-out’ roses as replacements, high quality. Can they go right back into the same holes or does something else need to be done to those holes first?
Washington County Oregon
Replanting the same locations with new roses is fine (the best I can see in our advice articles). Watch carefully as they grow to cut any growth from the rootstock. Planting now in the heat of summer will require extra care, water, possibly temporary shade.
