Arborvitae spacing
Can I plant my arborvitae trees 5 feet apart and still have good privacy?

Thank you for your question. “Arborvitae” is a general term used to describe several species, the most common being Thuja occidentalis, which, according to this Penn State Extension article, can extend to a width of 10 to 15 feet: https://extension.psu.edu/evergreen-shrubs-and-trees-for-pennsylvania That should be wide enough—by two—to provide privacy. You just need to be patient, and provide the right conditions, as the article indicated. Good luck!
