My neighborhood has several groundhogs that we haven't been able to trap and remove. My personal concern is they will tunnel into my septic mound which will damage it. Is there a good options for preventing this or getting rid of groundhogs?

Beyond having a dog out there to scare them off, there probably isn't anything to keep them from digging there if that's where they choose to do it. In terms of trapping them, if you have failed, then there are companies in the Cincinnati area that do that for a service. Google "nuisance animal removal" and something should pop up. If you would happen to catch one, they must be euthanized, because they cannot be relocated. That's actually the big costs from the removal companies because they can't relocate them either.
