Grafted Apple Tree lost a grafted branch

Asked July 29, 2019, 2:46 PM EDT

I purchased a multi grafted (4) Apple Tree & it was planted a couple months ago & doing well. This AM 1 of the grafted branches was laying on the ground. My question is 2 fold.
One I'm thinking this slit, where the branch came undone, needs sealed & possibly wrapped? What would be best?
Second. The branch that feel out, could it be regrafted to another location? I placed the branch in a bucket of water, but don't know if this is the proper action.
Any direction would be helpful. I hate to see this branch that was doing so well, just tossed & not saved.
