Bud drop

Daylily buds turning hard and brown eventually dropping. Cause?

Hello, Usually when the buds do not develop, the problem is related to water. If there is not enough water, the buds will dry up but if there is too much water, the roots may rot causing the buds to fail to develop and fall off. By sticking your finger in the soil, you can establish which may apply. In addition, there are insects which may cause the problem such as thrips and tarnished plant bug.
