Oak tree

We trimmed our oak tree, branch that we cut was hollow. Is this a concern, should we “patch” the hole left in the tree? If so, with what??

Hollow branches are a sign of decay. You might want to have a certified arborist look at your tree:

I should also add that even though July is outside the 3-month do-not-prune window for oaks, it is just barely so, and the insect vectors for oak wilt are still active. Personally, I would not prune an oak in July, unless there were broken branches or hazard branches. Read here:
