My black eyed susan established plants did not come back this year. Can anyone help with this problem?

In general black eyed susan can be short lived but usually self seeds. This past season was wet and the plants or seeds may have declined or rotted. There are many types and cultivars that you may want to try. Stay away from Rudbeckia fulgida 'Goldsturm' as it is prone to foliar diseases.
