Greenhouse fir vineyards
It would be an expensive way to grow grapes. I could see where a high tunnel might help reduce the amount of black rot on the fruit but the economics would be hard to overcome. I believe that Table grapes would be the only way to make it pay.
Is there any recent cost study about the use of greenhouses in vineyards? thanks
There is some information out there but economic considerations seem to be incomplete at this time. Below is a link to an ATTRA publication that takes a look at fruit in high tunnels and begins to look at the economics. Like I stated yesterday it seems the focus on a profitable venture centers around table grapes.
