beans in home garden

Asked July 20, 2019, 2:04 PM EDT

My string beans (new seed) grew wonderfully, very lush but there are no buds and of course no beans. The rain has been plentiful. what to do?

There may be several reasons for no beans such as maturity date (usually 50-60 days to maturity) when did you plant; too much nitrogen; and the high temperatures.
You may have to be patient and hopefully we will get some cooler temperatures. See our website for more information on beans https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/beans
