Balsam fir may be resistant to juglone. There were no reports on other firs. The following trees are tolerant to juglone.

Arborvitae Thuja sp.

Canadian Hemlock Tsuga canadensis

Chinese Juniper Juniperus chinensis

Red Cedar Juniperus virginiana

Does this mean you saw a citation or experience of a/some balsams being tolerant? I am not sure how to interpret 'may be' .
Thank you so much!

This is a helpful list. https://www.johnson.k-state.edu/docs/lawn-and-garden/in-house-publications/trees-shrubs/Landscaping%20Near%20Black%20Walnut%20Trees.pdf
The citations are also excellent. I am afraid this is the best I can find.
Thank you for the question
