native ground cover

Asked July 17, 2019, 7:11 PM EDT

I live in northern MI. I have an area approx. 4x20 between a paved driveway & a border of large rocks. I need something that can handle some rain/snow run-off; it is fairly sandy soil, gets about 4 hrs. sun/day. Looking for something low growing (less than 12") with quick growth/spreading; hopefully something native to northern MI. Would appreciate suggestions!

I am including a link below to a web site that has more info on things to consider when purchasing native plants. To find a selection of native plants and producers, click on the link in the website for the Michigan Native Plant Producers Association which is just one resource for native plants in Michigan. All of these growers are knowledgeable and can help you with the most appropriate plant selections. Hope that helps.
