Phosphorus addition

Asked July 14, 2019, 8:38 AM EDT

How can I add more phosphorus to my plants to encourage more blooms? Should I apply 0-44-0 fertilizer or is there a better organic way? Thanks

Thank you for your question. That much phosphorus will not produce more blooms. A plant needs to have enough of the macronutrients to have healthy leaves and roots to produce blooms. Here is an Extension article that explains nutrients and various sources: https://www.hort.vt.edu/HORT6004/network/YouthGardener/Helpsheets/fertilizing.pdf I hope this is helpful. Good luck!
