Peach tree pest

Asked July 13, 2019, 4:32 PM EDT

We are finding a lot of our yet-unripe peaches have split pits. We found a small larvae-like pest inside one. Picture attached - wondering if this is a twig or tree borer? Or something else?

Thank you for your (8) questions. They are marked as ‘spam’ after the first three. It is the weekend, and university faculty are not available. The staff at your county Extension office are better equipped to recognize stone fruit insects in your area. Please contact them on Monday for help.
