Canning jams in quart jars
Do you have any information on the time I will need to can peach, or other, jam in quart jars? The recipe calls for pint jars at 10 minutes processing, but I have teenage grandchildren, three of which are boys, and the pint jars would probably last for only one meal!! Any help in converting the time would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hi, unfortunately jam is best when using pint or half-pint jars as larger containers can result in a weak gel, due to residual heat during cooling. This is why you don't see jam made in larger containers.

You wouldn't want to go to all of the work of canning to end up with a poorly gelled product if you can help it...
