Apple Tree Spraying

Asked July 11, 2019, 3:08 PM EDT

What should I spray on my Apple Trees to keep the bugs from them. I was told some Dawn in water but I thought I would ask the experts. Thanks Paul Hurley

Dish soap is a contact insecticide. It will only kill some of the insects that it is sprayed on. You can also pick off some insects and drop them into soapy water. Soapy water does not kill any insect that is not sprayed. The following links have some of the potential apple pests and how to control them.

Obliquebanded Leafroller Choristoneura rosaceana may be difficult to control with insecticides, even with selective insecticides (Bacillus thuringiensis and insect growth regulators).
