Meadow Blazing Star

Asked July 11, 2019, 12:12 PM EDT

Hello, Some of my Meadow Blazing Star plants are turning brown at the tips and beyond. They are currently in pots, waiting to be planted, and are in dappled sunlight. Do you have any suggestions or know what might be the problem? Thank you.

The spots are most likely caused by an insect called four lined plant bug. This damage does not harm the health of the plant. Cut your plants down in the fall to remove eggs that may have been inserted.

Common diseases include leaf spots (caused by Phyllosticta liatridis and Septoria. T liatridis).
