Drying herbs in microwave oven

Asked July 5, 2019, 3:40 PM EDT

While drying parsley in my 1200 watt microwave oven, the glass turn table of the oven gets very hot after two batches are done. I use a microwave safe dish with the parsley leaves in a single on a white paper towel, covered by another paper towel. It takes 5 minutes to dry one batch, 3 minutes on high, followed by another 2 minutes on high. The parsley dries nicely, but after the second batch the glass oven turn table becomes very hot. I can touch it, but not for long. Is there a way to prevent the glass turn table from becoming so hot?
