Dying rose bushes

Asked July 5, 2019, 12:13 PM EDT

Our rose bushes have been healthy for years until this week. Last week they were beautiful, displaying many red and deep pink flowers. Yesterday I was shocked to find the flowers were turning a pale color or were brownish near the centers, and the leaves had smooth edged circular holes. No Japanese beetles were there. A leaf picked today shows one section where 1/6th of the entire leaf was eaten away from the edge to the center vein. There is a single heart shaped hole besides a circular hole, and many small brownish spots where the green of the leaf is missing -- eaten? We can't find any clues as to what is doing this. Please help us to stop this decline! I'm afraid the roses will be gone in a week. Thanks.
