Deciduous conifer

Asked July 3, 2019, 7:08 PM EDT

This tree is growing in my back yard in Ashland, OR I have been unable to identify what it is and would appreciate your help. I thought it was a Bald Cypress but can't get that verified. Thank you. It's 70 feet talk, scaly bark and small green cones.

Thank you for your question. It certainly is a cypress, and its cones resemble those associated with cypress, but I’m not sure of their size. Here is an article with photos: https://oregonstate.edu/trees/conifer_genera/cypress.html Does that confirm your conclusion?
