Are these weeds

Asked June 28, 2019, 11:57 AM EDT

Hello, I live in Wheaton, near Sligo Creek. These plants (weeds?) have appeared in my back garden bed, which receives a lot of sunlight. They are growing pretty fast. Can you help me determine if I need to remove them? Thank you. C.

1. This is a desirable flower. May be zinnias.

2. Black-eyed Susans. These are good.

3. The heart-shaped plant (low) is violet.
The two slightly taller plants to the right and left of it, are maple seedlings.
The grass is yellow nutsedge. Pull this weed and dispose of it in the trash, not the compost pile.
