I need to move some black raspberry bushes. Can I move any at this time? Also, what is the best time to move black raspberry bushes?

Hi- the best times to move your black raspberry plants are mid-Oct. through mid-Nov and March.

If you must move them first cut out all of the canes that fruited in June back to the crown, thin out the new canes that emerged in spring so there are only 3-4 per plant and then head those back to a 4 ft. height, keep as much soil attached to roots as possible, plant them in fertile soil ammended with organic matter, keep plants well-watered through summer and fall.
