Once paperwork to build an agricultural well on a 12 acre farm has been filed, how long (estimate) does it take to get someone to inspect the land and get approved to start the build? Why?
Yamhill County Oregon
Thank you for the question, unfortunately this is a question your local District 16 water master can answer. New agricultural wells take quite awhile to approve, as many of the aquifers and surface water rights in the valley are already maxed out. You should call Joel Plahn directly as he may be able to tell you prior to filing and paying the fee if a well will be an option. 503-986-0889 or firstname.lastname@example.org
He is very busy this time of year regulating irrigation rights, so I suggest a message both as a voicemail and an email. Alternatively, the regional manager is Mike McCord who may also have a better timeline for you tel:+1-503-986-0893
