Thank you for the question. Michigan State has a good publication on watering the vegetable garden. Here's a quote: "The time of day when you water is important. Plant leaves are susceptible to diseases that take advantage of long periods of wetness. Focus on watering during the morning hours or at mid-day when leaves will dry off quickly. This helps avoid disease infections. Watering in the morning also reduces water loss from evaporation".
