Identify worm in Peruvian olives purchased from Kroger

Asked June 18, 2019, 3:44 PM EDT

Can you identify the pictured worm. Peruvian anscaloma? olives were purchased May 5, 2019 from the “olive bar” at my local Kroger store. The olives have been refrigerated since then. The container is half eaten. Yesterday 6-17-19 I noticed white spiraled worms 12-15 in the container. I need this information to determine my health risk.

Please provide a sample to our MSU Diagnostic Lab where they have an Entomologist that can look this over and provide documentation on it.

Thank you for your time. A representative of the Michigan Department of Agriculture visited my local Kroger. She found the “larvae” in the original container and determined that the seeds of the Peruvian peppers (which were extremely small) had sprouted in a spiral.
