Spruce have been in decline in Michigan for a number of years now, blue spruce especially, but all spruce have been affected to some degree by several needlecast, canker, and tip blight diseases. Read more here: https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/what_is_spruce_decline_and_what_should_you_do_about_it

A positive diagnosis is necessary before considering treatment, and we can't give
you that from this vantage point. Recommendation is to involve a Certified Arborist, one who specializes in everything woody. You can find one or more Certified
Arborists in your zip code at www.treesaregood.com Click on the Find an Arborist tab. Arborist evaluations are not expensive and where you can learn exactly what
is going on in your tree.

Good luck!
