Organic weed killer

Asked June 7, 2019, 7:40 AM EDT

Hello, My husband is a bee keeper. We have been inundated with creeping charlie weed this year in the lawn and gardens. Do you have an organic weed killer that will kill the weed but not harm the bees? Thank you so much. Kaye

Please see our webpage about ground ivy and the various management options recommended. There is a link to organic control options. https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/ground-ivy

Even if you do use an organic herbicide, you should take precautions. Read the product label carefully with regard to application timing to prevent harm to bees.

The National Pesticide Information Center has a lot of information with regard to pesticide use and bees. They run a toll-free hotline that you can call if you have questions about specific pesticides. http://npic.orst.edu/envir/yardbees.html
