Newport Or can I still prune back uncared for scraggly old bush roses?

Hello, the best time to prune roses in February when roses are dormant. But you can prune out dead or diseased branches anytime. There's no harm in a light pruning in the fall. Many gardeners like to trim established roses back to about waist height by late November.
