We live on Dora Lake in the Chippewa National Forest and would like to plant a wind/privacy type hedge that will survive the harsh north wind whipping across the lake all winter and the hot summer sun (yes, it exists!). The area is full sun to afternoon sun and ideally i'd like them to be bird/animal/bee friendly both to provide shelter and food. Also, in a prefect world they would have a nice fall color and low maintenance. I'm new to gardening and not quite sure where to start. Any ideas would be great! Thanks. Tamara
