Thrips on roses

Asked May 31, 2019, 6:13 AM EDT

How can I eliminate thrips on my roses. I have several knock out roses and they get covered with thrips every year. I have used jets of water, and chemicals. But I don't want to use systemics. I dead head any buds I see infested, but they still come back. Help.

Hello,

Rose thrips are hard to see, being about 1/20th inch long, but the damage is visible!

Thrips build immunity to insecticides and you may have to try a rose resistant to them, as described in the first link, below.
