alternatives to lavender that are dear resistant

Asked May 28, 2019, 7:30 PM EDT

Our lavender plants did not survive the winter. Can you recommend alternatives that do well in Maryland? We're looking to add perennials to our backyard which receives intense sun. The plants need to be deer resistant too. Thank you.

Luckily there is a fair number of deer resistant perennials for full sun. The following is a list of plants that you should be able to find in a local plant nursery.

Yarrow, coreopsis, coneflower, Russian sage, ornamental grasses, salvia, yucca, baptisia, black-eyed Susan, goldenrod, Veronica, gaillardia, hyssop, catmint, and amsonia,

There are others that can be added to the list. Most likely the folks at the nursery have other suggestions.
