Something is eating the leaves !

Asked May 24, 2019, 7:07 PM EDT

I have had a Hoya for about 18 yrs...slow growing, easy, gorgeous. Suddenly, it has a pest and the notches look like 'weevils'. Do you agree and what should I do? This has been sitting in my kitchen window all this time..never, ever outdoors. How does it suddenly get a pest??? Thanks

Thank you for your question. As the following Extension article indicates, mealybugs and nematodes (ground-dwelling) are the only two insect pests: Can you check for them? If not, you can bring your plant to the Extension office for an exam: Thank you!
