Growing sorghum in western oregon

Asked May 23, 2019, 2:30 PM EDT

I am interested in growing sorghum as a feed for our animals. I was wondering if this is something that is a possibility in western Oregon or is it too cool to produce a substantial crop?

Thanks for your question about sorghum. Are you planning on irrigating the pasture the crop and will you be using the sorghum for pasture feeding or as hay? Will you be using irrigation?

Sorghum is known for Prussic acid poisoning or hydrogen cyanide (HCN).
