Sick Crape Mrytle

Asked May 22, 2019, 7:50 PM EDT

This crape myrtle appears to have a problem and I don't know what to do about it. The leaves are curling and there are black spots. No bugs that I can see. Plant is not growing like other crape myrtles I have in the yard (no where near this one). What do you suggest? this is a sunny part of the yard.

The newest growth at the top looks healthy. The older foliage with the spots may have been damaged by cold while the leaves were still in the buds. Just give it time to allow the new foliage to develop further and recover from the pruning. No treatment or other action is necessary at this time.

thank you for the guidance. I will keep an eye on it.

Just wanted to close the loop with you and let you know that I checked the crape myrtle again yesterday and it's growing just fine. Thank you for the excellent guidance.
